Week 4 - Chunky Monkey
(7/2/11 - 7/8/11)

This week is all about the weight! And boy has Violet been packing on the pounds! She was born at 7 lbs 10 oz, and we brought her home at 7 lbs 3 oz (typical weight loss after birth). Well her ferocious appetite and schedule of eating every hour and a half (sometimes even more often than that) has resulted in a 4 week old baby who now weighs 10 1/2 pounds! She is averaging about a pound a week. We will soon see if she can compete with her brother Andrew for the "6 weeks 16 pounds" title! But I think she will be chunky, but not quite that chunky!

In terms of temperament and sleep she is a great baby and if she isn't sleeping she is eating or trying to watch people with her one eye open! She loves to be carried and went through a phase this week where she wouldn't sleep unless she was held. It was rather ridiculous, if you put her in her swing or bassinet she would start screaming bloody murder within minutes and as soon as you picked her up she would INSTANTLY stop screaming, close her eyes and be sound asleep!

So because of this we broke in the Baby Bjorn this week so that I could still get something accomplished. Although I would have loved to just be able to sit, watch tv, and rock her all day long.....ahhhh wouldn't that have been relaxing!
